A delegation of national Military Representatives from NATO's Allied Command Operations, who are visiting Bulgaria on May 30 and 31, met with the Bulgarian Navy Command on Friday, the Navy said in a press release.
Allies host such visits on a rotation basis twice a year. Romania hosted the delegation on May 27 and 28 immediately before their arrival in Sofia.
At the Navy Headquarters, the guests were welcomed by the Commander of the Bulgarian Navy, Rear Admiral Kiril Mihaylov. After that, they were briefed by officers of the Navy Command and Headquarters on the current security situation in the Black Sea region. The national Military Representatives were familiarized with an analysis of threats and a review of risk mitigation actions, as well as with the contribution of the Bulgarian Navy to ensuring Allies' security and their development prospects.
Later in the day, the delegation toured the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy and the Varna Archaeological Museum.
