The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is organising a Bulgarian-Moroccan Business Forum at its headquarters in downtown Sofia at 10 a.m. on May 15, BCCI said in a press release on Friday. The event is organized in cooperation with Bulgaria’s the Office of Trade and Economic Affairs in Morocco and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services for the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra Region in Morocco.

Bulgaria’s Economy and Industry Ministry recalls that the economic relations between Bulgaria and Morocco date back to 1957, when the first bilateral trade agreement was signed. EU countries are Morocco’s main foreign economic partner. The Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement between the EU and Morocco entered into force in 2000, creating a free trade area between the EU and Morocco.

In 2023, the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Morocco grew. Bilateral trade rose by 65% and the trade balance is positive for Bulgaria.

The delegation from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services for the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra Region includes companies with interests in food processing, trade, import and export, agricultural machinery and equipment, automotive, information and communication technology, infrastructure and construction, among others.
