Olympic champion from Tokyo 2020 Ivet Goranova of Bulgaria won a gold medal at the 53rd Golden Belt International Karate Tournament in Cacak, Serbia.

Goranova, competing for Karate Club Petromax, came first in the 61 kg kumite category, which is higher than her usual 55 kg weight class. She achieved four wins on the way to success, and in the final she prevailed 1-0 over Emina Sipovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

In the men's up to 60 kg category, Velin Ivanov (Club Levski) placed fifth.

The competition involved athletes from France, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkiye, Slovakia, Italy, Russia, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Sweden and other countries.
