Children attending the St Kliment Ohridski Bulgarian School in Luton participate in a project dedicated to the homeland, which continues to develop and produces good results, BTA learnt from the educational establishment.

The school announced the launch of the initiative on March 3, when the children showed their personal photos of their visits to historical and natural sites in Bulgaria. The students told their memories of them and marked the places on the map.

"Periodically, we change the photos and add new ones. This way we encourage children to visit more historical sites in Bulgaria. The success is starting to be noticed. We hope that this summer, when the children return home for the holidays in Bulgaria, they will be eager to make new visits," the school noted.

The mission of the St Kliment Ohridski Bulgarian School in Luton is to promote and maintain the Bulgarian language and culture abroad. The school uses a curriculum approved by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science for teaching Bulgarian to children living outside Bulgaria.

The school was established in 2018 at the request and insistence of parents who live in Luton and nearby settlements. An association was formed to promote instruction in Bulgarian language and literature.
