site.btaEurostat: EU27 Construction Output in January Down by 1% M/M, in Bulgaria Up by 1%
Eurostat preliminary data published on Wednesday showed that construction output in the EU27 in January fell by 1% over the month, whereas it expanded by 0.5% in the eurozone.
In January EU27 construction grew on average by 0.1% from a year earlier and by 0.8% in the eurozone.
In Bulgaria, in January 2024 construction output grew by 1% from December 2023, based on seasonally adjusted data, and by 0.3% from November 2023.
Year-on-year, construction output in Bulgaria in January grew by 0.7%.
Among the EU countries for which data are available, the largest annual increases in output in the construction sector were recorded in Hungary (+17.1%), Spain (+15.1%) and Portugal (+3.9%).
At the other end of the scale, the countries with the largest declines in construction output were the Netherlands (-15.7%), Romania (-14.7%) and Slovakia (-12.8%).
