site.btaOutgoing Government Adopts Amendments to Insurance Code

The outgoing government approved by a decision a draft law on amendments and supplements to the Insurance Code, Cabinet’s information service said.

The decision introduces into national legislation the requirements of Directive (EU) 2021/2118 amending Directive 2009/103/EC relating to insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles and to the control of the obligation to take out such insurance. The bill introduces new definitions of "vehicle" and "use of a vehicle". The proposal provides for an exemption from the obligation to insure category 01 trailers, self-propelled machinery with engine power up to 10 kW, motorized bicycles, individual electric vehicles, and self-balancing vehicles.
