Three certificates for priority projects have been issued by Innovation and Growth Minister Milena Stoycheva since the start of 2024, based on a method approved by her that establishes a regime for companies to receive state aid. This transpired at a forum on attracting investment and funding for municipalities, organized here on Tuesday by the InvestBulgaria Agency in cooperation with the Innovation Ministry.

The event was directed at municipal councillors and mayors of municipalities. It was also attended by regional governors.

The three certified projects belong to Alcomet, Schneider Electric, and Glass Distribution, who will receive some BGN 80 million in state aid. They will receive the funding immediately after they introduce the new productions.

InvestBulgaria Agency Secretary General Yulian Belchev said that this will be a direct cash grant from the State. The minimum threshold for this aid is BGN 50 million for the manufacturing industry and BGN 30 million for scientific research and development activity. Belchev specified that the biggest a company's investment, the smaller the grant and vice versa.
