The U.S. Trade and Development Agency has begun the process of applying for funding for a feasibility study of a pilot hydrogen production project for the Chiren underground gas storage facility. This was confirmed by Carl Kress, the Agency's regional director in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Eurasia, during a meeting with Bulgartransgaz CEO Vladimir Malinov in Washington. The institution finances key projects and cooperates with companies to develop sustainable infrastructure and promote economic development in partner countries. Carl Kress stressed that the feasibility study is eligible for full funding. Once an internal approval process within the agency is completed, a grant agreement will be signed.
