Speaking on Wednesday ahead of her participation in The Economist magazine's The World Ahead 2024 forum in Sofia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel said that talks are being held about the composition of various ministries in view of the forthcoming government rotation. “When we are ready with the whole government, we will have talks with the political leaders,” she added.

“The dialogue between PM Denkov and me made it possible to form a government, to have such good results,” Gabriel said, adding that for the time being the conversation must focus on the government as a whole.

According to her, all ministries are under analysis, and there is still a lot of work to do. “What is important to me is that Bulgaria be consistent in asserting its place in the EU and NATO in terms of its policies for its citizens, and sending a clear message that we want stability,” Gabriel noted.

Asked about the tensions between the coalition partners, Gabriel pointed out that Bulgaria is a democratic parliamentary republic, and everyone has the right to their opinion.
