site.btaInterior Minister Stoyanov Holds Working Meeting with Swiss Ambassador Furrer

Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov and Ambassador Raymund Furrer highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation within the Bulgarian-Swiss programme, under which the Ministry of Interior and the Swiss government have established a successful partnership. In the new programming period, which runs until 2029, additional joint projects are planned for implementation.

Ambassador Furrer confirmed Switzerland's support for Bulgaria's full membership in the Schengen area. He shared his satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation in the field of home affairs and within the Bulgarian-Swiss programme.

Minister Kalin Stoyanov thanked Switzerland for its consistent support for Bulgaria's accession to Schengen. He pointed out that full membership remains a constant priority for the country and expressed confidence that it will ensure better protection of the EU's external borders. The Interior Minister noted that Bulgaria and Switzerland maintain a fruitful professional interaction through all operational channels, including through their representatives abroad. 

Both sides expressed their readiness to continue the active dialogue on all topics of bilateral cooperation.
