The management of the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) under the Ministry of Innovation and Growth and the Vienna Economic Forum signed a Cooperation Agreement that will help promote opportunities for attracting investment in Bulgaria. The ceremony took place in Vienna, the ministry reported Monday.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva, IBA Executive Director Mila Nenova, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Austria Desislava Naydenova, VEF Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Elena Kirtcheva, and VEF Vice President and CFO Heinz Messinger among others.
"We will deepen our partnership with the Vienna Economic Forum with a number of significant initiatives," said BIA Executive Director Mila Nenova.
The Vienna Economic Forum commented that their aim is to stimulate and identify short, medium and long-term investment projects of common interest for the economic development of the region, as well as to promote their implementation.
With the signing of the agreement, Bulgaria will actively participate in all initiatives and events of the Forum and will henceforth take part in the decision-making of its governing bodies, the ministry said.
At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel, Sofia will host the next meeting of the Vienna Economic Forum, which will take place on April 22, she announced after a meeting with Ambassador Kirtcheva, founder and Secretary General of the Vienna Economic Forum.
