President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) Julian Revalski and the Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria Yosef Levi Sfari met here to discuss the long-standing good relations between the two countries, as well as the promotion of doctoral programmes offered by universities and scientific organizations in Israel among the Bulgarian scientific community, BAS reported on Thursday.

Revalski briefed Sfari on the initiative to hold a workshop at BAS in 2024 with guest speakers from Israel, which is conducted jointly by BAS and the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The goal is to have the guest scientists present the latest achievements of science in Israel, as well as the existing opportunities for cooperation, exchange and development of scientific personnel from both communities.

The two sides agreed to cooperate to strengthen the ties between Bulgaria and Israel in the field of science, BAS said.
