The Ministry of Tourism successfully presented Bulgaria as a tourist destination at two important international exhibitions - CMT in Stuttgart, from January 12 to 21, and MATKA - Helsinki, from January 18 to 21, the Ministry said on Wednesday. At both exhibitions, the Bulgarian stand had an area of 40 square metres.

The international exhibition CMT - Stuttgart is the largest tourism exhibition for mass audience in the world. In 2024, more than 1,600 exhibitors from 100 countries took part in it, and within 9 days the exhibition was visited by more than 235,000 people. The leading themes of CMT were camping and caravanning, motorcycles, cycling, golf, spa, cruise travel, etc.

This year there was an increased demand for travel to Bulgaria. Highlights of its presentation were sea holiday tourism, wellness and spa, cultural and hiking routes, natural attractions, eco-trails, golf, etc. Camping and caravanning are gaining more and more popularity after the coronavirus pandemic, and Bulgaria is more and more often the destination of choice with German tourists.

The MATKA exhibition traditionally attracts many end users, which represents an excellent opportunity to improve the brand recognition of Bulgaria and to establish this country as an attractive destination for Scandinavian tourists all year long.

The interest of the visitors from the northern countries was mainly focused on the opportunities for cultural, cycling and sea tourism that Bulgaria offers.
