Meet and Greet with Translator Angela Rodel to Take Place at Bulgarian Embassy in Washington DC

A meet and greet with translator Angela Rodel will take place at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Washington DC at 6:30 pm local time on February 9, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission informed on its Facebook page.

Writer Linda Kinstler will also take part in the event.

Angela Rodel will present Vera Mutafchieva's historical novel The Case of Cem, whose first English-language edition has recently been published. Registration for the event can be found here.

The Bulgarian Embassy stressed on the pleasure of hosting the meeting with Rodel to discuss and celebrate the release of the Bulgarian classic.

Angela Rodel, who received together with Georgi Gospodinov the Booker International Prize for Literature in 2023, will also present her translation of The Case of Cem both in a bookstore in New York on January 29 and in the Boston area on January 31. Rodel will also take part in a literary event at Columbia University in New York on February 3 and at Yale University in New Haven on January 30.
