The Sofia University has started a series of conversations about European values and social challenges - Conversation Series. This is an innovative format of academic discussion with world-renowned scholars from the social sciences, the university said on Friday.

The Conversation Series on Values and Social Challenges in Europe provides a unique public platform for influential experts, global thought leaders, renowned scholars and authors to share personal insights on contemporary social issues, policies, education, research and media.

They will all visit Sofia University to tell their vision for a better Europe. The first talks can be watched on the website the university Alma Mater TV, which is a media partner of the format.

Within the framework of SUMMIT - Sofia University Marker Momentum for Innovation and Technological Transfer project, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with the support of the EU - Next Generation, in September 2023, the research group "European Values and Social Challenges" undertook to explore these areas, to raise awareness of their importance among academics as well as the general public.

Prof. Dr. Maria Stoycheva, Head of the European Values and Social Challenges Research Group, opened the first episode of the Conversations series with Prof. Dr. Michael Byram.
