The Sofia City Prosecution Office has refused to institute criminal proceedings in connection with an alleged recording of a meeting of the National Council of the Continue the Change Party, the prosecution service said on Friday.

The recording was made public by MP Radostin Vasilev at a BTA-hosted news conference on May 26, 2023. Vasilev claimed that it was made at an online meeting of the party's policy-making body on May 21.

The case was referred to the prosecution service, which launched a check in connection with offences against the Republic.

The supervising prosecutor issued a warrant ruling that there is no sufficient evidence to prove that a criminal offence had been committed.
