Speaking after his meeting with European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kovesi in Sofia on Thursday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said that said that the fight against corruption is not only a fight to save public money, but a fight to preserve democracy.
The two talked during the Anti-Corruption, Democratic Resilience and Economic Security Forum, which is taking place in Sofia. The meeting was also attended by Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.
In Denkov's words, the importance of the fight against corruption has acquired new and more global dimensions.
