Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova and Danish State Secretary for European Affairs and the Arctic Jonas Bering Liisberg held political consultations at the Foreign Ministry in Sofia on Friday, the Ministry said.

The two identified ways to deepen all aspects of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, energy and tourism. They exchanged positions on a wide range of topics on the European and global agenda, including contemporary geopolitical and security challenges, the Western Balkans, migration, the rule of law and energy diversification.

The Danish State Secretary affirmed his country's consistent support for Bulgaria's accession to the border-free Schengen area and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development as soon as possible.
