In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel said that "the EU Anti-Trafficking Day is a reminder that we must continue united and unrelenting in our efforts to eradicate it." She also said: "Human trafficking is a serious crime against the person, personal freedom and human dignity. It remains a serious threat in the EU despite the progress made in recent years."
"That is why we need the senses to 'see' the invisible and stay engaged. Together we must continue to confront this phenomenon, by guaranteeing human rights, protecting victims, supporting survivors and prosecuting perpetrators," Gabriel said.
