site.btaBird Cuts Power from Two Units of North Macedonia’s Largest Electricity Producer TPP Bitola

A bird has caused a 30-minute stoppage of power supply from the TPP Bitola, said the energy distributor of North Macedonia.

The outage was caused when the bird flew into a transformer station. The damages to the equipment were minor and one of the two units of the largest energy producer in North Macedonia has already been reconnected to the grid.

Cases of power outages, caused by birds, are extremely rare but not impossible.
