Representatives of the Bulgarian Veterinary Union (BVU) participated in the First Ohrid Veterinary Meetings international congress, held in Ohrid, Republic of North Macedonia, the BVU reported.
The event is a continuation of the tradition of establishing broader cooperation between veterinary associations from the Balkans.
The two-day congress covered a variety of topics from all areas of veterinary medicine, with renowned lecturers from the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Turkiye, Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria.
During the meeting it was agreed to continue the joint veterinary congresses between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia on the principle of exchange visits. The first forum was held in 2019 in Strumica, Republic of North Macedonia, the second in 2022 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The third joint congress for veterinarians of the two countries is scheduled to take place in 2024 in Ohrid, Republic of North Macedonia, the BVU said.
