site.btaSofia to Host Sensui Oikawa's Exhibition of Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy

An exhibition of contemporary Japanese calligraphy inspired by Japanese family crests by Sensui Oikawa will be presented at Sofia's San Stefano Gallery between September 18 and October 2, the organizers reported.

Works by Sensui Oikawa have already been on display in Paris, Los Angeles and Vienna. The upcoming event will not be her first exhibition in Sofia, as she has already visited the capital city back in 1981 with a calligraphy exhibition. She returned to Bulgaria nearly four decades later, in 2018, with an exhibition dedicated to Genji Monogatari, a classic work of Japanese literature written by Murasaki Shikibu.
