North Macedonia's Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi strongly condemned the killing of a Kosovo police officer in North Kosovo.

"Full support for achieving justice by bringing the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice. The stability and security of Kosovo will not be disrupted by violent acts. The safety of citizens comes first," Osmani responded on his Facebook page.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations Artan Grubi also responded on social media by saying that  "the attack and killing of the Kosovo police officer is an attempt to ignite a conflict with consequences for peace, stability and security" in the region.

"I call for caution and maturity, immediate apprehension of the killers, stabilization of the situation, determination to restore law and order and close coordination with the international community," Grubi wrote.

A Kosovo police officer was killed and another wounded in a shooting in a village in North Kosovo early Sunday morning.
