Bulgarian customs officers and border guards at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint have seized 4,008 kg of undeclared shisha tobacco, 7,836 textile products and 18,300 empty toner cartridges bearing various brand logos from a truck entering from Turkiye.

On Monday, a German-registered tractor-trailer arrived at the checkpoint. The Turkish driver presented documents for a groupage shipment bound from Turkiye via Bulgaria to Germany. A thorough customs check found 334 undeclared cartons containing 24 factory packs of 500 grams of shisha tobacco each, with a foreign excise duty stamp, among the declared goods. The excisable goods weighed 4,008 kg. Also found were 38 undeclared boxes containing 7,836 textile products bearing the logos of various brands. 

The smuggled goods were impounded. Pre-trial proceedings are underway.
