"I am resigning as an MP, I am leaving the GERB party and politics," GERB MP Vezhdi Rashidov said in a statement on Wednesday.

Rashidov resigned on Monday as Chair of the Parliamentary Culture and Media Committee and as member of GERB's Executive Committee over  remarks he made earlier about female domestic violence victims, unaware that a microphone was turned on during a break in Parliament, which was debating amendments to the Protection Against Domestic Violence Act.
