Measures to reduce human trafficking, integration of Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria and the development of the US Study an Travel Program were among the highlights of a meeting on Tuesday between Labour Minister Ivanka Shalapatova and US Ambassador here Kenneth Merten, the Labour Ministry said.

Also, the two discussed ways for cooperation and experience exchange in the area of labour, social protection and vulnerable groups care.

Shalapatova presented the priorities of her team at the Ministry, related to the policies for child protection, improving family welfare and providing targets support to vulnerable groups. She briefed the diplomat on the measures for employment promotion and gender equality.

The sides discussed the US study and travel programs for youths.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Labour Minister Nikolay Naydenov, Social Assistance Agency chief Nadya Taneva, interim Employment Agency head Milena Georgieva and General Labour Inspectorate head Ekaterina Assenova.
