Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov is leaving for Vilnius on Monday to take part in the 2023 NATO Summit, the Government Information Service reported. The Bulgarian delegation also includes Defence Minister Todor Tagarev, Chief of Defence Adm. Emil Eftimov and Deputy Foreign Minister Tihomir Stoichev.

The forum is expected to make decisions about NATO's further political and practical support for Ukraine, to update the decisions of the 2022 NATO Madrid Summit about strengthening the bloc's deterrence and defence potential, and to assume a new defence investment commitment.

The summit will involve allied format meetings, discussions with the heads of state or government of the NATO partners Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea, and sessions with the presidents of the European Council and the European Commission. The NATO-Ukraine Council will hold its first meeting, and the ministers of foreign affairs and defence will have informal discussions.
