site.btaBulgarian Navy Completes Sea Shield 2023 Exercise

The Bulgarian Navy Friday reported the completion of the command and staff exercise Sea Shield 2023. The exercise was held from May 30 to June 9.

The exercise had two phases: a preparatory phase for planning an operation and a phase with real operations at sea. 

For the first time, the exercise used a scenario developed by NATO and adjusted to the needs of a national defence operation. In that scenario, an equal adversary posed risks and threats to the Alliance in political, military, economic and information terms.
