Bourgas, on the Black Sea, August 5 (BTA) - Over 200 Russian holiday-makers who were unable to leave Bulgaria on August 4 due to the bankruptcy of their tour operator were eventually transported back home on three special flights from Bourgas Airport later in the day.

The Russians were stranded at Bourgas Airport for hours, trying to get in touch with their Russian tour operator, Labirint, which had been declared bankrupt on August 2. The original flights which were supposed to take them home were cancelled after Labirint refused to pay the carrier Orenburg Airlines for the charter services.

The 200 holiday-makers were part of a total of 1,500 people affected by Labirint's bankruptcy, 60 per cent of them spending their holidays on the southern section of the Bulgarian coast (including the resorts around Bourgas) and 40 per cent on the northern section.

The Bourgas Airport authorities said there are no more Russian nationals stranded at the Airport, but the uncertainty remains.
