Mountain hiking conditions are not ideal, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA on Wednesday.

The day is quiet and cloudy, with melting snow due to rising temperatures, and ski lifts in winter resorts are not operating.

The weather over the mountains will be mostly sunny with some afternoon cumulus cloud development, though the likelihood of rain remains low. A strong south-southwesterly wind is forecast, bringing warmer conditions and maximum temperatures of about 15C at 1,200 m and around 8C at 2,000 m.
