The National Assembly will take a second vote of no confidence in the government of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov on Thursday, April 17, at 2:30 PM, Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova said after Wednesday’s parliamentary debate on the no-confidence motion, which lasted more than four hours.
The motion was submitted on April 10 on the initiative of the MECh parliamentary group, supported by the signatures of the MPs of Vazrazhdane and Velichie. Its topic is corruption.
The first vote was taken on April 3, just 77 days into the government’s term in office. The topic was the incumbents’ foreign policy. It failed after the MPs voted 54 in favour and 150 against. The motion was submitted by Vazrazhdane and supported by Velichie and MECh.
