Sofia, August 16 (BTA) - The estimated price of a new Westinghouse AP-1000 reactor at the Kozloduy nuclear power plant is under 10 per cent of Bulgaria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Mike Kirst, Westinghouse Electric LLC Vice President, Strategy and External Relations, Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, quoted in a press release issued by the PR agency which services the company.

The statement came after a remark at a news conference Friday by Bulgarian caretaker Economy and Energy Minister Vassil Shtonov who said that Westinghouse's project is big and considerable, and if it materializes, its total value as a GDP percentage will exceed 15 per cent.

Kirst for his part says that the value of the generator will be lower than all other available alternatives for production of electricity.

On Friday Shtonov said also that the decision on the construction of a new unit at Kozloduy is to be made by the next regular government.
