site.btaSupreme Judicial Council to Present Voting System for Administrative Leader Election
Sofia, August 18 (BTA) - On August 20 and 21 the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) will present before communities key to the institution the system of voting for election of top administrative staff in the judicial system, including the forthcoming election of president of the Supreme Court of Cassation, SJC said Monday. The initiative came from the Chairman of the Professional Ethics and Prevention of Corruption Commission Yassen Todorov.
The ambassadors of EU countries, as well as the EC Permanent Representative in charge of the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism Joeri Tavanier, are invited to test the system from 10:00 am on August 21. This invitation is an expression of the responsibility with which the SJC is conducting the key staffing procedure which is closely followed by the EC, the entire magistracy in the country and the public, the SJC said.
The SJC is also giving a clear sign to the public that it is carrying out an open, transparent and public procedure on voting and is guaranteeing the security of the system.
Representatives of the organisations which are members of the Civil Council are invited on August 20. Media representatives may take part in the test voting on August 20 and follow the meeting at the SJC press office.
