Sofia, August 20 (BTA) - The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) submitted documents for registration for the early parliamentary elections on October 5 with the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Wednesday. The MRF lists will be publicized by the week's end.

"Irrespective of the election result, we should find the formula of steady governances in the next period," MRF leader Lyutvi Mestan told journalists. "We have all grown tired of self-contained confrontation and of frequent change of governments. It is time for peace and responsible governance", Mestan stressed. MRF will stick to the line of balanced, tolerant and efficient campaign, established at the European Parliament elections, he also said.

Asked to assess the first steps of the caretaker government of Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki, Mestan said that the Prime Minister and the caretaker Cabinet as a whole should make much more effort to disperse what Mestan believes to be justified fears that it is not equally independent from all political forces.

The deadline for registration for the upcoming elections expires on Wednesday. According to CEC data, seven parties and four coalitions have registered so far. GERB was the first party to submit documents, followed by Republic BG, Ataka, Bulgarian Social Democracy, Society for New Bulgaria, Movement 21 and New Alternative.

The coalitions are ABV, Patriotic Front - National Front for Salvation of Bulgaria and the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization-Bulgarian New Democracy, the Coalition of the Right, and Bulgaria without Censorship.

The National Council of the Union of Democratic Forces confirmed that the party will run in the election within the Reformist Bloc in line with the agreement, signed in December.

By August 23, the Civil Registration and Administrative Servicing Chief Directorate will verify the lists, presented by the parties and coalitions, after which the number of the participants in the parliamentary elections will become known.
