Sofia, September 1 (BTA) - GERB leader Boyko Borissov has
congratulated Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on his
appointment as European Council President, GERB said on Monday.

"I am confident that in your high position you will strengthen
EU's leadership and will be an important factor of stability in
the EU," the congratulatory address reads.

Borissov said: "As leader of Bulgaria's largest centre-right
party, I will support your efforts to strengthen integration
between EU member states and avoid a division of eurozone and
non-eurozone countries. I believe that through the joint efforts
of all senior EU politicians, we'll manage to overcome anti-EU
and populist ideas that have taken wide hold in recent years."
