Political Parties Sign Agreement on Honesty, Tolerance in Election Campaign


Sofia, September 8 (BTA) - Representatives of political parties
Monday signed an agreement on honesty and tolerance in the
election campaign on the initiative of the DNES Civil Movement.
The agreement was signed by the Social Democratic Party, the
United Bulgaria party, the Reformist Bloc, the National Movement
 for Serge and Stability, the Bulgaria without Censorship
coalition, the ABV coalition, the New Power party, the BSP -
Left Bulgaria coalition, and The New Time formation.

The agreement reads that the participants in the October 5 early
 general elections will observe the law, conduct their election
campaign honestly and openly, respect Bulgarian citizens'
rights, offer a quality political debate, will not misuse power
against their opponents, and will make clear commitments and
give feasible promises.

The participants also commit to not use practices related to
vote buying. They will work for the promotion of voter turnout,
as well as the trust between citizens and politicians.
