December Total Business Climate Indicator down 1.1% M/M

Sofia, December 30 (BTA) - In December 2014 the total business
climate indicator decreased by 1.1 percentage points compared to
November due to the more unfavourable managers' opinion in
construction and retail trade, the National Statistical
Institute said Tuesday.

The business climate in industry composite indicator increased
by 2.4 percentage points in comparison with November, due to the
slightly improved managers' expectations about the business
situation of the enterprises over the next six months.

The business climate in construction indicator dropped by 8.2
percentage points due to the more pessimistic construction
entrepreneur assessments and expectations about the business
situation of the enterprises. In their opinion, the present
construction activity in comparison with November has decreased
and their forecasts for the next three are also more cautious.

The business climate in retail trade indicator decreased by 4.6
percentage points compared to the previous month due to the more
moderate retailers' assessments and expectations about the
business situation of the enterprises. Their forecasts regarding
the volume of sales and orders placed with suppliers over the
next three months are also more reserved.

In December, the business climate in service sector indicator
increased by 2.4 percentage points due to the more favourable
managers' assessments and expectations for the business
situation of the enterprises. At the same time, a certain
improvement of their expectations as regards the demand for
services over the next three months was registered, but that is
not accompanied by an intention to hire additional staff.
