Three Men Investigated for Terrorism in Spain Extradited by Haskovo Court
Haskovo, Southern Bulgaria, January 5 (BTA) - The Haskovo
District Court has decided that three men wanted by Interpol for
involvement in a terrorist group must be extradited and turned
over to the Spanish authorities.
At separate court hearings on Monday, Brazilian Kaike Guimaraes
and Moroccans Mohamed El Garbi and Tafiq Mouhouch, all resident
in Barcelona, confirmed they wanted to be extradited as soon as
possible. Their defence lawyers said the extradition procedure
should take place within 10 days. The three may be transported
to Sofia as early as Monday.
They were arrested at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the
border with Turkey on December 16 while attempting to enter that
country and then go on to Syria. They were arrested on a
European Arrest Warrant issued by a court in Madrid.
The Haskovo Court's decision is unappealable.
