National Assembly Chair Tsacheva
Attends Inauguration of
Croatian President

Zagreb, February 15 (BTA) - National Assembly Chair Tsetska
Tsacheva Sunday attended the ceremony on the inauguration of the
new Croatian President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Parliament's
Press Centre said.

The ceremony, which took place at the St. Marco Square in
Zagreb, was attended by many high-ranking foreign guests,
including the presidents of Slovenia, Slovakia, Albania,
Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Hungary and
Kosovo.

After the inauguration ceremony, Tsacheva held a bilateral
meeting with President Grabar-Kitarovic.

Tsacheva also conferred with Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip
Leko. It was confirmed at the meeting that Leko will visit
Bulgaria at the end of March as head of an official
parliamentary delegation. Tsacheva and Leko agreed that the
bilateral relations are at an excellent level and are
characterized by friendship, trust and partnership.

The Bulgarian National Assembly Chair also gave an official
interview on Croatian television. Asked to comment on the role
of women in politics as the first chairwoman of Bulgarian
Parliament, she outlined the main positive characteristics of a
female politician's profile: diplomacy, flexibility,
responsiveness and the ability to find solutions in difficult
situations. In the conditions of a crisis, women in politics are
perceived as a guarantee of social rights and protection of
citizens' interests, Tsacheva noted. In her words, voters see in
a female politician the humane orientation and social
responsibility that they appreciate so highly.

Tsacheva congratulated the Croatian people on choosing a female
president, adding that such a choice does not depreciate men. In
the 21st century, both men and women are equals, they have the
same potential and can be of equal benefit to their people,
Tsacheva said.
