Regional Development Minister: Lv 300 Mln-Plus Invested in Urban Environment Rehabilitation

Pleven, Northern Bulgaria, April 6 (BTA) - Regional Development
and Public Works Minister Liliyana Pavlova Monday said that over
 300 million leva had been invested in the cities to improve the
 urban environment under Operational Programme Regional
Development 2007-2013.

Pavlova said that Pleven was one of those cities. She stressed
that it was important to improve the neighbourhoods by
implementing projects for energy renovation of residential
buildings.

Pleven can sign a contract for the second stage of its centre's
rehabilitation because one million leva more are available under
 OP Regional Development, which must be used up by the year's
end. In addition, 60 million leva have been provided for Pleven
Municipality under OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020.

Pavlova was in Pleven for the opening of the renovated
pedestrian precinct and central square. Nearly 5 million leva
were invested in this EU-financed project.
