Agency Impounds 10,000 l of Substandard Fuel in Silistra Region

Sofia, July 2 (BTA) - The State Agency for Metrological and
Technical Surveillance said on Thursday it has impounded 10 000
litres of substandard diesel fuel after a series of checks in
the northeastern Silistra Region. The inspectors ordered three
filling stations to suspend operation and issued recommendations
to ban four other stations from distributing liquid fuel.

The checks were conducted between June 22 and 25 and covered 95
per cent of the region's filling stations, including 10 chains
of filling stations and 35 small outlets. Some 8.7 per cent of
the test samples showed that fuel standards were not met.
Documentary irregularities were detected in 20 per cent of the
facilities.
