Power Failure Closes Border Crossings to Macedonia, Greece

Sofia, January 4 (BTA) - The Gyueshevo, Stanke Lisichkovo and Zlatarevo crossings on the Bulgarian-Macedonian border and the Koulata crossing on the Bulgarian-Greek border were closed to traffic due to a power failure in the area, the Interior Ministry reported on Monday.

The other checkpoints on Bulgaria's national borders are operating normally in winter conditions.

All vehicles travelling to Greece via the Ilinden border crossing must be equipped with snow chains. The requirement has been imposed by the Greek authorities as the snow cover on the Greek side of the border is rather thick.
