Visiting Romania, Bulgarian Defence Minister, Host Agree on Invigorated Cooperation in Black Sea Region

Bucharest, March 21 (BTA) - Bulgarian Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev, who is paying a two-day official visit to Romania, conferred here on Monday with Romanian National Defence Minister Mihnea Motoc, Nenchev's Ministry said in a press release.

"The talks between the two ministers evidence yet again the excellent interaction between Bulgaria and Romania within the context of the forthcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw," the press release says.

Nenchev and Motoc considered a specific package of activities to facilitate NATO's rotating presence in the region. There are plans to increase the number of exercises and to invigorate cooperation between the two countries in the Black Sea region. On Nenchev's proposal, a working group of representatives of the Bulgarian and Romanian defence ministries will be formed to sort out the details of the package of initiatives.

Within the framework of his visit, the Bulgarian Defence Minister conferred with General Ion Oprisor, National Security Advisor to President Klaus Iohannis and Head of the National Security Department, and with Chamber of Deputies President Valeriu Zgonea.
