Ataka Leader Sentenced to 100 Hours Community Service

Sofia, March 23 (BTA) - The Sofia City Court sentenced Ataka leader Volen Siderov to 100 hours community service. He pleaded guilty in a case for hooliganism and causing a light bodily injury to a policemen before the National Assembly building in May 2011.

The community service has to be rendered in the course of one year.

Siderov commented that he has become a target because he is inconvenient for certain people.

The Sofia City Court approved last week a plea bargain with Siderov for two hooliganism cases in 2011 and 2015. In the first Siderov disrupted official observances of the April Uprising in Batak and in the second he stormed the building of the National Academy for Cinema and Theatrical Art and provoked clashes with acting students.
