Socialist Party Alerts Prosecution Authority on Interrupted Live Broadcast from Bouzloudja Mount
Sofia, July 31 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the television, contracted to broadcast live the BSP national gathering at Bouzloudja Peak on Saturday, sent an alert to the Prosecutor General to establish why the event could not be aired and who stands behind this act. This is said in a media statement by BSP leader Kornelia Ninova.
At 11 am when the broadcast was scheduled to begin the television signal was interrupted, said Ninova. An attempt was made to transfer it to another television and, finally, to use the satellite of the Bulgarian National Television. All three attempts were unsuccessful.
According to Ninova, this has been done by people with adequate powers in the state. The BSP leadereship considers the case as sabotage.
Ninova addressed Prime Minister Boyko Borissov through the media" Mr. Borissov, if this were you, it is inadmissible to violate the freedom of broadcasting the biggest national event of the opposition." "I do not say that it was Borissov who did it. I expect from the prosecution to perform its investigation," she then added and noted this was an attempt to encroach on the freedom of speech and impose censorship on the opposition.
