Turkey to Request from Bulgaria Extradition of Person Suspected of Ties with Gulen's Organization

Istanbul, August 1 (BTA exclusive by Nahide Deniz) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Sunday that his country will send a delegation to Bulgaria to ask for the extradition of a person suspected of ties with what the Turkish government refers to as Fethullah Gulen's Terror Organisation (FETO). Cavusoglu was speaking in a public square in Antalya where he attended a rally with thousands of citizens, which was broadcast live by Turkish TV channels.

Gulen is blamed for the July 15 unsuccessful coup attempt in Turkey.

Some of the criminals who tried to kill President Erdogan, while he was vacationing in Marmaris, have managed to escape, but will not be able to hide because all forces have been activated, including the police, army and citizens, and they will be caught sooner or later, the Turkish top diplomat said.

Speaking earlier in another interview, Cavusoglu said that the authorities have information that a Turkish national with close ties to Gulen's structures, has escaped to Bulgaria.
