Elitsa Yankova Wins First Medal for Bulgaria in Rio 2016 Women's Freestyle Wrestling

Rio de Janeiro, August 18 (BTA) - Elitsa Yankova brought the first Olympic medal to Bulgaria in the women's 48 kg freestyle wrestling. She won the bronze in a match against Argentina's Patricia Alejandra Bermudez with 7:6 points.

The Minister of Sport Krassen Kralev congratulated all Bulgarians with the first medal in Rio, adding that Yankova should be an example for all Bulgarians.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also congratulated Yankova in his official Facebook page, saying she is a pride for the country and wishing her happiness and success.
