Non-government Sector Deposits Up 9.2 Per Cent to Lv 65,646 Mln between July 2015 and 2016

Sofia, August 24 (BTA) - At the end of July 2016, deposits of the non-government sector (non-financial corporations, financial corporations except insurance corporations and pension funds), households and non-profit institutions serving households) were 65,646 million leva (73.8 per cent of GDP), increasing annually by 9.2 per cent (9.5 per cent annual growth in June 2016), the Bulgarian National Bank reported.

Deposits of non-financial corporations were 18,119 million leva (20.4 per cent of GDP) at the end of July 2016. Compared to the same month of the previous year, they increased by 10.2 per cent (12.9 per cent annual growth in June 2016). Deposits of financial corporations increased by 36 per cent annually in July 2016 (28.7 per cent annual growth in June 2016). At the end of the month they reached 3,837 million leva (4.3 per cent of GDP).

Deposits of households and non-profit institutions serving households were 43,691 million leva (49.1 per cent of GDP) at the end of July 2016, increasing by 7 per cent compared to the same month of 2015 (6.8 per cent annual growth in June 2016).

At the end of July 2016, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to 50,189 million leva (56.4 per cent of GDP), compared to 49,961 million leva (56.2 per cent of GDP) at the end of June 2016. They increased annually by 0.003 per cent in July 2016 (0.6 per cent annual decline in June 2016).

In July 2016, loans to non-financial corporations decreased by 0.6 per cent annually (1.5 per cent annual decline in June 2016) and at the end of the month amounted to 30,492 million leva (34.3 per cent of GDP).

Loans to households and non-profit institutions serving households were 18,229 million leva (20.5 per cent of GDP) at the end of July 2016. They decreased by 0.4 per cent compared to the same month of 2015 (0.7 per cent annual decline in June 2016). At the end of July 2016, loans for house purchases were 8,734 million leva and increased by 0.6 per cent annually (0.2 per cent annual growth in June 2016). Consumer loans amounted to 7,279 million leva and compared to July 2015 they declined by 1.1 per cent (1.3 per cent annual decrease in June 2016).

Loans granted to financial corporations were 1,468 million leva at the end of July 2016 (1.7 per cent of GDP). Compared to July 2015, they increased by 23.1 per cent (25 per cent annual growth in June 2016).
