Prime Minister Borissov Congratulates U.S. President-elect Trump

Sofia, November 10 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov congratulated U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on his election, the government's information service said.

In his congratulatory address Borissov says that he values extremely high the attained level of friendship and strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States. The PM expresses a wish that during the Trump administration Bulgaria and the United States will build on what has been achieved so far, stressing that the Bulgarian government will continue to work towards the full utilization of the potential of the bilateral relations.

Borissov further notes the excellent cooperation between Bulgaria and the United States in defence, in the fight against terrorism and organized crime in the "dramatically" changed security environment on a global scale. The PM thanks for the American assistance in the modernization of the Bulgarian armed forces.

"At the same time I am certain that we can do much more so as to increase the presence of the American business in Bulgaria. I also hope for progress in the talks on the visa waiver for Bulgarians travelling to the United States which will increase the opportunities for direct ties between the citizens of the two countries," Borissov says.
