European Commission President Expresses Hope that Bulgarian President-Elect Will Make Commitment to Political Stability

Brussels, November 16 (BTA correspondent Nickolay Jeliazkov) - European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker has sent a message to Bulgarian President-elect Rumen Radev expressing hope that he will make a commitment to political stability, which the country needs to carry through economic and structural reform, and participate in the fulfillment of the common EU agenda.

Juncker also says that Bulgaria has a central role in the process of decision--making in the EU.

The Commission President further says that Radev's election comes at a moment of major importance for Bulgaria and the EU, and that it is important for the two sides to work together as they face the challenges of the migrant crisis, aspire to energy security and the creation of sustainable jobs and economic growth.

Juncker concludes by wishing Radev good luck during his tenure and says he looks forward to working with him in the same way as he did with outgoing President Rosen Plevneliev.
